It was a term of respect for the empowered woman, the multi-faceted woman, the woman that makes the tough decisions and faces whatever the world throws her way with a fortitude, resilience and style that is all her own. A diva is a woman of action, who yields the kind of results which garners a level of respect that even her critics cannot deny.

People call me 'The Diva' everywhere I go, so I embrace the sentiment as my stage name in the spirit of the old-school divas. I use it to inspire myself and others to survive and thrive on your own terms, forging your own path forward. The Diva is the best part of me and I aspire to be my best self, especially when performing - I mean, with a name like 'The Diva' I can't afford to be disappointing! But don't be fooled by my curves, big hair and 6'1 larger-than-life exterior, I'm still just a tomboy in touch with my feminine side."

BIO

The Diva Rodriguez is a comedian, powerhouse vocalist and all-around entertainer who wows audiences with her melodic blend of fabulous and funny that is unlike any other stand-up act!

Just three months into stand-up, she beat out dozens of San Diego's best to win Skyy Vodka’s Funniest Person in Ocean Beach Contest in 2013.  Since then, The Diva has featured, hosted and headlined for corporate, charitable and private events, and was a regular opener/host at Aces Comedy Club in the Inland Empire - where she currently resides.  She also hosted her own radio show providing social commentary on current events and politics called "Honestly Speaking with The Diva" on www.RadioforDivas.com.

The Brooklyn native's performance career began as a teenager on the ABC TV pilot "CityKids" and also as a young singer working with many film and recording artists while performing on some of New York City’s most famous stages, including Madison Square Garden and the legendary Apollo Theater.  Currently, The Diva produces and hosts the popular local comedy showcase "Stand Out Stand Ups" featuring some of the most talented comedians in Southern California.

This 6-foot-tall, multi-racial BBW uses her life experience, wit and vocals to present audiences with her unique perspective on race, sex, pop-culture, politics and more.  Clean or raw, The Diva's fresh, edgy humor combined with her acapella vocal delivery always leaves audiences "DIVAFIED"!
